Our client, who operates in the banking sector is looking for a Treasury Middle Office Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES

FX/Credit Risks

  • Monitor deals, be it customer or proprietary
  • Understand deal life cycle for key instruments from start to post settlement
  • P/L reconciliation of cash [and derivatives] instruments with GLs
  • Monitor and reconcile FX exposures
  • Investigate reconciliation differences and resolve
  • Develop best practices for the documentation of treasury transactions
  • Maintain a database of counterparty limits.
  • Monitor and control internal and regulatory limits
  • Monitor and report credit exposures and excesses
  • Assist in development/design of reports to provide appropriate information which identifies the risk

MM Risks

  • Monitor and control liquidity management as per BOM regulations
  • Keep abreast of local market developments which could have direct bearing on change to Procedures/reporting requirements.
  • Investigate reconciliation differences and resolve
  • Other Tasks
  • Monitoring compliance with established policies

Reconciliations

  • Good knowledge of Nostro/Vostro/Loro accounts
  • Establish proper escalation procedures for unreconciled items
  • Maintenance of SSI and contact lists of different counterparties

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Product knowledge (IRS, FX, REPO, Swaps…)
  • Accounting/Financial knowledge (GLs…)
  • Technical skills in finance and risk analysis
  • Familiarization with Front-Office dealing activities
  • Practical knowledge of Reuters information provider
  • IT Skills [spreadsheet, Excel…]
  • Ability to review and challenge efficiency of existing processes
  • Strong analytical and quantitative aptitude, skilled at problem solving, with a logical and tenacious approach
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – ability to translate financial analysis into plain language for management reporting
  • Self-motivated and committed

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in finance/Economics/ or equivalent qualification in a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in the relevant field
