The scrum master is a unique role that helps the team to be empowered in what is self-organization, self-management and deliver via lean/agile practices. You will be in the driving seat to enforce alignment with the scrum process and other rules/processes that the team has agreed upon on how to work together. As a Scrum Master you will be responsible to continue driving bold changes in culture which embrace transparency, trust and high-level collaboration. A scrum master makes sure that nothing gets in the way of the team in order to deliver by fostering continuity and focus on 1 goal at a time.

Does this sound like you? Here’s what you need to have to match our requirements:

  • 3 years experience in development, planning, implementation and continuous adaptation of Agile within an agile organisation across multiple teams aka working as a SCRUM master

  • Basic technical background on software development.

  • Be eager to Influence, coach and motivate people to embrace core scrum agile values.

  • Able to represent the team when coordinating readiness, Sprint preparation and other progress issues with other scrum masters.

  • Have knowledge and experience on how to make scrum events go smoothly, without consuming too much time and be still efficient.

  • Master basic concepts in supporting team to carry out normalized estimations on tasks and overall project duration.

  • Understand group dynamics and can take decisions when it is the right time to step in and facilitate so that team works better together.

  • Willing to dedicate a substantial portion of time with other managers, teams and stakeholders in order to remove blockers that alienate the team from focusing on the delivery goal.

  • You should show mastery in communication and collaboration, so that with others you arrive collectively to conclusions in a timely manner to form a solution strategy.

  • Should have knowledge on how to support and educate the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining and managing the product backlog

  • Have experience in tracking and communicating the team velocity and sprint/release progress especially through project management tools such as Jira

Good to have:

  • Knowledge of the telecoms and / or software industry

  • Business analysis experience.

  • Solid understanding of test driven development, User acceptance testing, project management and basics of CICD.

If this describes you, here’s a glimpse of what you will be doing in this position:

  • Meet regularly with POs to support them while they are refining the backlog and prioritizing its features.

  • Shield team from unrealistic PO or management demands and continuous trickling of random requests.

  • Have meetings with other scrum masters to discuss common issues observed across teams and propose solutions.

  • Attend daily meetings with team to actively listen to team members on what they did the previous day, what they intend to do and what is holding them from progressing.

  • Tackle root causes of impediments that include technical debt, people issues, CICD problematic scenarios etc.

  • Address lack of automation and clear processes in any phase of delivery.

  • Pause regularly with team and reflect on how to get better and further rise to any challenge at hand.

  • Be a communication point of reference within team and across teams.
