Job Description

An international leader in the press and communications industry is recruiting a top caliber Sales Manager for its setting up in Mauritius. The incumbent will provide strategic direction to the Sales Organization and ensure achievement of both short & long term goals and to drive.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define the target numbers for the region in terms of revenue & budget
  • Ensure achievement of the target numbers within the identified markets and categories
  • Grow market share gain in line with overall sales objectives
  • Ensure ageing of Accounts in terms of collections is to the minimum
  • Implement systems and procedures as formalized
  • Maintain good PR with clients and agencies to continue with existing and new business
  • Identify new clients and opportunities from the specified market for new business
  • Focus on Innovation and client servicing
  • Build, train, develop and guide team members towards achieving the objectives
  • Monitor and assess performance of team members reporting into the Sales Head and ensure performance standards are met by all team members
  • Work with the Marketing department to champion in bringing Non – Advertisers to our field & develop the Airport
  • Ensure maximum capacity utilization of all assets and Sales Productivity targets are met

  • Being self-motivated and sensitive to individual and team motivators/de-motivators; leads from the front in demonstrating what success is; sets examples in minimizing/ removing the distractions that reduce motivation
  • Ability to set priorities and execute independently

  • Responsible to participate in all corporate initiatives as required
  • Strong negotiations and analytical skills with large enterprises
  • Ability to successfully multi-task and effectively work within a fast-paced environment

Cost Optimization:

  • Responsible for cost optimization involving around the end to end Sales Process

Maintain key relationships:

  • Leverage strong relationship with crucial Internal stake holders like finance, marketing, operations, strategy towards winning profit
  • Collaborative relationship with revenue heads of other assets for exchange of ideas, challenges and trends

Innovative & Informative:

  • Driving innovative plans for selling of high value advertising solutions and services to clients
  • Instrumental in contributing quality information on market intelligence, key market drivers & industry competition
  • Identifying new business opportunities directly or through team
  • Responsible for profitability, driving high margin business, collections & cash flow

Qualifications and Experience

  • Preferably holds an MBA (Sales & Marketing)
  • 7-10 years of experience; major time in advertising sales
  • Be a perfect oral / written communicator in English, French and Creole
  • Understanding of Mauritius media industry
  • Possess media agencies and clients’ contacts in the Mauritius market
  • Be a network guru
