Job Description

A reputed aviation and travel solutions provider in Mauritius, Africa and the Indian Ocean, is recruiting a top notch Marketing and Communications Manager with the main aim of defining and driving the company’s strategy in Mauritius and the region.

Job Description

  • Build organisational capability in Marketing and Communication to enable the Company to meet its stakeholders' needs  and expectations
  • Drive targeted Marketing campaigns for business segments of the Company to enhance top line growth
  • Assist CEO & MDs in formulating, defining and implementing the Strategic Plan of the Company across countries and lines of business
  • Develop marketing campaigns including strong creative briefs to end up with creative communications on sector and its brands
  • Ensure creation and use of collateral materials to promote awareness and recognition of the sector brands and services
  • Oversee market survey processes by choosing and driving research agencies to ensure a strong, accurate market / competitor feedback
  • Manage creative production of online and offline marketing assets, graphic design, video, production and web development, from the initial concept to finished product and execution
  • Act as the brand guardian, setting the rules and ensuring consistent brand expression through all stakeholders and clients (external and internal)
  • Manage various social media platforms for the Company
  • Analyze markets and provide statistics about market, clients, competition.

Key Competencies for the role

  • In-depth understanding of the needs of customers and tracks their changing needs effectively in travel and aviation sector
  • Builds and manages positive relationships with key customers and proactively takes action to satisfy their needs
  • Understands key levers of change (enablers + obstacles to change)
  • Aware and up to date with economic / industry trends and challenges, has a deep understanding and masters the key drivers / KPI’s for the business
  • Drives a process orientation and high quality focus across the business, drives decisions which result in operational excellence in the business
  • Encourages and sustains a performance-oriented culture across the organisation
  • Effectively creates and sustains positive relationships with key internal and external partners and stakeholders

Candidate profile and qualifications

  • Post-graduate Qualifications in Marketing or any other acceptable qualifications
  • 5+ years Management experience in Marketing, across multiple industries and geographies, with exposure to best practices
  • Good leadership, communication, negotiation and organisational skills
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and deliver under pressure
  • Strong technical skills
  • Strong service orientation and ability to lead staff towards same
