Job Description

The Investment Assistant will support the investment function and dealing desk, execution and monitoring of the trading function, maintaining investment portfolio information, and assist with the review of dealing instructions and portfolios.

Core Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance or related fields or relevant working experience
  • Experience in trading preferred
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of Access considered an asset

Knowledge and Skills 

  • Be aware of major asset classes
  • Provide an efficient dealing service meeting all relevant deadlines
  • Provide support throughout the various stages of the investment process
  • Ensure dealing information is recorded accurately on the relevant system and is updated regularly
  • Familiar with all main office productivity software
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail, accurate and able to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.

Primary responsibilities

  • Data input and data processing within the investment team
  • Take responsibility for the processing of dealing instructions including updating their status within the company’s Dealing Tracker, checking trades are in line with our SOIP
  • Ensure all dealing instructions received are in line with the company's Statement of Investment Principles (SOIP) and are processed accurately, in a timely fashion and in accordance with company procedures
  • Monitor the Dealing Mailbox and deal with any requests that may be received from IFAs and/or clients in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure filing is updated, while maintaining and recording clients’ correspondence and documentation on the company systems
  • Handling of internal and/or client’s enquiries addressed to the Investment Team
  • Providing reports and statistical information to management as required
  • Involvement in key team and departmental projects
