Job Description

A technology company, is seeking to recruit a Head of Product Development in a Senior Leadership Team position, reporting to the MD. The chosen candidate will be leading the Product Development team locally and will also be responsible for driving the company’s growth strategy and execution with direct responsibility for the product development activities in Mauritius.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership to the Product Development organization in alignment with the company's corporate objectives
  • Responsible for the human resource management activities including maintenance of proper staffing levels, resource optimization, attainment of individual and team goals, employee relations, mentoring, talent/career development, and rewards/recognition based on achievement of goals
  • Work with different organizations and institutions to increase visibility of the company and influence changes in technology sector
  • Manage Product Development staff and other allocated resources and continuous improvement of related processes to ensure that efforts meet company objectives
  • Work with different organizations and institutions to increase visibility of the company in Mauritius and influence changes in technology sector
  • Represent product development internal and external meetings and strategy review presentations/overviews as appropriate
  • Demonstrate awareness and understanding of strategic goals/priorities and focus people on the most important organizational priorities
  • Proactively contact key stakeholders to assess their satisfaction and the team ability to deliver comprehensive solution and monitor Management quality and productivity using established metrics
  • Work on employee engagement survey feedback by conducting regular survey analysis and internal meetings to identify trends, strengths and opportunities

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and post graduate degree in related field preferred
  • 15+ years of experience with responsibility for product development preferred
  • Senior level 7+ years direct leadership experience with a proven ability to lead an organization across geographies
  • Experience in managing a team of Managers and recognized as an individual with outstanding leadership skills, professionalism, communication, business acumen and planning capabilities
  • Ability to Drive innovation in the technology field
  • Experience collecting, interpreting and analyzing data to generate recommendations
