A strong brand in the local landscape of financial services with an international footprint, is seeking to recruit a dynamic Head of Consumer Finance who will be in charge of the performance of the company as directed by the CEO and dictated by the board’s overall strategy, to be based in Mauritius. The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure sustainable business expansion, human resource management of department and enforce compliance, regulatory and statutory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement the short, medium and long term strategic plan for the business towards revenue and profitability growth
  • Closely monitor the operating and financial results against plans and budgets and provide regular reports to the board and CEO
  • Maintain an ongoing dialogue with the board of directors, regulators and business partners/ merchants
  • Develop and ensure adequate operational planning and financial control systems
  • Ensure that the operating objectives and standards of performance are understood and owned by the business managers and employees
  • Constantly scan the business environment, advise the board and CEO about developments and opportunities for growth in the market
  • Represent the company and be the brand ambassador with customers, suppliers, bankers, professional associations, media and the general public
  • Master the dynamics of the consumer finance in view of proposing innovative approaches to capture market share and ensure robust and sustainable growth
  • Deploy a stringent compliance, corporate governance and risk management framework in line with company policies, processes, controls and systems

Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 10 Years at Director level in the Consumer Finance sector
  • Degree in Management or Finance, Banking or Economics and/or member of CFA, ACCA or ACA.
  • Masters in Business Administration would be an advantage
  • Strong Business Intelligence and Commercial Skills
  • Proven Leadership capabilities
  • Excellent rapport building and stakeholder management
