Data Quality Manager

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Engaging with stakeholders on data quality issues from identification through to short-term fixes and long-term solutions
  • Owning the Data Quality register and following up with relevant Data and/or System Owners for resolution
  • Distinguishing and prioritising between impacting and/or regulatory issues and side-issues
  • Identifying internal customer needs and requirements to develop effective data control processes
  • Document control/reconciliation rules, data needs and data specifications
  • Producing clear views on data quality issues and actionable recommendations
  • Setting up and operating Data Quality metrics, including measurement of timeliness and accuracy
  • Collaborating with Data Engineering to improve automated data integrity and quality controls
  • Working with Business Intelligence to transparently expose Data Quality indicators across the Group
  • Participating in business initiatives to ensure data quality is enshrined in new products/services
  • Recognising opportunities for improvement and developing new and more efficient quality processes
  • Conducting Data Profiling and Analysis to proactively identify and intervene on quality issues
  • Ensuring that the Groups' aggregation and reporting processes conform to regulatory requirements
  • Establishing and organising a Data Steward network within the organisation
  • Motivating and steering stakeholders towards high-quality data
  • Working on own initiative to independently manage multiple deliverables in an international context

Required knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computing/finance/economics or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience in data quality and/or analysis
  • Track record working with Accounting and Finance data in the Banking Industry
  • Previous experience in Leveraged Finance, Credit and/or Market risk will be considered an asset
  • Experience with Data Quality platforms - preferably Talend
  • Advanced knowledge of RDMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle or equivalent) and SQL scripting
  • Demonstrated use of Data Modelling tools such as Erwin, ER Studio, Toad or SQL Power Architect
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (S3, Redshift, Athena, Snowflake) will be considered an asset
  • Able to communicate clearly, and fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Comfortable with the structuring and analysis of large datasets
  • Thorough documentation skills - preferably using the Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools - preferably Qlik or MicroStrategy - will be considered an advantage
  • Knowledge of French and/or Dutch will be considered an asset
