A Financial Services company is looking to recruit a Credit Risk Analyst.

Objective of role:

  • Conduct analysis of credit proposals in preparation for approval
  • Participate in development and implementation of new products and risk management tools
  • Conduct reviews of credit portfolio
  • Prepare risk management policies and periodic risk management reports;
  • Provide support to the Sales Team

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conducting credit risk analysis based on financial and non-financial information identifying risks, suggesting mitigating actions to minimize or eliminate the risks accordingly, recommending credit proposals for approval
  • Preparing backing documents for internal and external credit risk discussions
  • Conducting credit risk analysis and mitigants in new product development and implementation
  • Participation in the development and implementation of risk management tools (ex: new scoring models, back testing of scoring models)
  • Acting a reference point for the Sales Department in relation to credit facilities
  • Conducting regular reviews of the credit portfolio and individual positions
  • Preparation of regular risk management reports
  • Updating of risk management policies and methodology development in line with regulatory requirements
  • Review of internal policies prepared by other areas from a credit risk perspective

Knowledge, skills, experience and competencies:

  • Diploma or 1st Degree in Banking or Risk Management (preferably)
  • 3 years previous experience in the area of credit risk within the financial service industry
  • Knowledge of Banking Rule 9 or equivalent
  • Knowledge of IFRS9 implications.
