Wealth Operations - Custody Services Officer

A leading bank in Malta is seeking to employ a Wealth Operations - Custody Services Officer to join their Custody team for a period of 6 months. Reporting directly to the Wealth Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the processing and settlement of Trades and administering Corporate Actions.

Responsibilities:
  • Processing and settlement of trades for the client base
  • Administering corporate actions issued on client holdings
  • Effecting large financial value transactions with extreme care and vigilance
  • Compiling regulatory returns and ensuring all custody reporting and adhoc information requirements are fulfilled accurately and on a timely basis
  • Ensure daily payment processing cut off times are adhered to
  • Act as the direct contact on all day to day matters and issues arising in relation to custody and escalate issues as necessary
  • Liaise with Foreign Custodians, Investment managers, Financial Intermediaries and Auditors ensuring that information is received and correctly interpreted

Requirements:

  • Highly organised, diligent and able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
  • Proactive, dynamic and a self-starter with strong problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including fluency in English
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support and/or guide colleagues
  • Good IT skills, particularly in MS Excel and MS Word
  • Basic understanding of financial instruments such as bonds, equities and funds is desirable
