Software Quality Assurance Manager

A leading company providing enhanced network security is looking for a Software QA Manager who will be reporting to the Senior Technical Architect. You will lead the QA team by planning, executing and coordinating quality assurance programs and formulate quality control policies. You will define and implement the strategy of the team by driving initiatives, promoting innovation and maintaining motivation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality assurance best practices and testing strategies
  • Research, recommend and implement software quality assurance tools and services
  • Define, document, and improve Continuous Testing processes and procedures that fit within CI/CD pipeline and methodologies
  • Provide leadership, direction, and strategy for a growing team distributed in different geographical locations
  • Establish the organizational capacity needed to execute on strategies by working closely with Project Managers, Technical Architects and Developers 
  • Train, mentor, coach and manage direct reports, both in their day-to-day activities as well as their career path/growth
  • Determine the need for training and talent development
  • Manage the system development from a QA perspective. Perform data analysis, regularly write test reports, and team performance reviews
  • Validate test cases built by team members to ensure that the team is creating robust testing practices to maximize software quality
  • Ensure that requirements stated in Product Design document are correct, unambiguous, and verifiable
  Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4 years managing a software quality assurance team in software development and/or other technology related organizations
  • Experience in testing enterprise grade products that require high availability, high volumes of transactions and quick issue response
  • Experience with testing strategies such as integration, User Acceptance Testing, E2E testing, regression, automated regression testing and quality assurance metrics
  • Experience with Scrum methodology and Agile practices
  • Experience with testing/automation tools such as JMeter, Selenium, SoapUI, and others  
  • Experience with various database and caching technologies
  • Comfort with programming languages and strong grasp of operating systems concepts
  • Experience working with Third party software developers as an extension to the inhouse development team 
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • Experience in the Telecommunications Industry will be considered as an Asset
  • Occasional travel to the Company’s and partners offices is required

This position allows for remote working within the EU, UK and nearby non-EU countries in Eastern European region. Nonetheless, the company is based in Malta and local candidates or those willing to relocate are preferred.
