Senior Operations Officer

Well-established company in the banking field is looking for a Senior Operations Officer. The successful candidate will form part of the Operations Department and reporting directly to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Being customer focused and able to direct the team to provide a professional and personalised service to customers
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations, set clear goals and delegate tasks accordingly
  • Ensuring there is plenty of knowledge sharing and job rotation within the team to support business continuity
  • Providing the necessary training and coaching to the team and streamlining work practices to achieve optimum operational efficiency
  • Ensuring that all procedures are documented and updated in a timely manner
  • Managing and administering factoring and internet banking customers
  • Investigating account discrepancies and following up customer queries and complaints
  • Contacting factoring debtors regarding payment queries
  • Promoting and cross selling the Bank’s products and services
  • Upholding the Bank’s integrity among its various stakeholders and integrating AML/CFT considerations into the relevant aspects of the role
  • Reporting circumstances that may bring the Bank into disrepute upstream, as well as transactions that may represent elements of doubt to the Bank’s MLRO

Requirements:
  • 5 years’ experience working in a bank or financial institution, ideally in a factoring role
  • Excellent written and spoken English. A strong command of French will also be considered an asset
  • Have an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and sound IT aptitude
  • Can take control in difficult situations and use judgement to solve problems
