A well established group of companies is recruiting a Senior Operations Manager – FinTech who shall have the responsibility to oversee the day-to-day financial and business operations for its Mauritian FinTech Company, providing Payment Gateway Solutions to customers in Mauritius and overseas.

The ideal candidate will have a strategic and hands-on role focused upon optimizing the revenue stream by providing solutions that drive both customer and business value.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, document and maintain operational flows, reconciliation and settlement processes and procedures
  • Involve in system design, selection and play key role in the implementation of suitable systems and solutions
  • Develop sound vendor management practice and procedures to protect the interest of the company
  • Manage the overall day-to-day operational processes within the payment and financial services team
  • Design, implement and manage a cohesive financial and operational strategy and ensure operational efficiency
  • Create & maintain operational budgets and financial plans
  • Track and analyze metrics to determine growth opportunities and improvement areas
  • Identify new revenue opportunities and target markets for the product
  • Liaise with regulators, public authorities and ensure compliance with the relevant laws and regulations
  • Drive an innovation culture and generate brand visibility
  • Adopt a risk-based approach to proactively identify and address risks
  • Engage with Customers to understand and validate their evolving business needs
  • Develop strong customer relationships and manage a large group of stakeholders

Qualifications & Experience

  • Hold a Post Graduate Degree in IT with management (MBA preferred)
  • Have at least 10 years’ experience in a similar role at mid to higher management level
  • Have proven operational experience in a FinTech or financial institution
  • Demonstrate professional maturity and leadership skills with strong interpersonal and networking skills
  • Possess experience in innovative payment mechanisms and understand FinTech laws and regulations on local and international markets
  • Excel in working relationships with the banks and regulators
  • Possess high level of trust to drive best practices with minimal supervision
  • Have outstanding project management and leadership skills
  • Have a strong business acumen and problem-solving ability
  • Possess excellent analytical skills, in-depth understanding of business models
  • Willing to travel if required at short notice
  • Proficient in French and English with excellent communications and reporting aptitudes
