A leading institution is seeking to employ a Senior Associate in Court Litigation. The Senior  Associate shall be responsible for assisting, following up and taking any necessary actions in relation to judicial actions to which the Unit may be a party and related to its process.

Job duties include:
  • Lead under the direction of the Head and/or Manager the initiation and/or conduct of any court-related procedures
  • Liaising with  external lawyers in relation to any such court-related procedures; 
  • Lead under the direction of the Head and/or Manager the drafting, preparation and filing of any judicial acts and related documents 
  • Liaising with other units and sections to collect data, documentation and information necessary for the purposes of court related proceedings;
  • Attending on behalf of and representing the institution in any court sittings;
  • Assist any officer, employee or agent who may have to attend for whatever purpose any court sittings;
  •  Attend internal management meetings, external meetings and participate in interviews as required;
Skills and Qualifications required:
  • LL.D. or M.Adv. Degree or an equivalent academic qualification in law at NQF7 or better;
  • Warrant or registration to practice as an advocate in Malta;
  • Applicants should have practiced in court for a minimum of one year;
  • Good understanding of the laws that govern the prevention of money laundering and funding of terrorism in Malta and the international standards and EU legislation in the area;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills in both Maltese and English
