Job Purpose of a Project Manager:

To manage end to end delivery of strategic projects and programmes in a telecommunications environment.


Key Accountabilities / Key Activities:

  • Develop, lead and manage the delivery of multiple projects
  • Create and maintain project plans and schedules
  • Manage project budgets and financials
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation such as RAID Log, Weekly Reports, Meeting Minutes, etc. to enable successful project outcomes
  • Promote effective cross-functional teamwork throughout the delivery lifecycle by supporting and encourage teams but also hold them accountable for deliverables
  • Actively ensure project timelines, deliverables and budgets are adhered to by the respective stakeholders
  • Lead the team/s to perform risk analysis and identification of actions that aid in the mitigation of risk/s associated with project delivery
  • Manage project/s within functional work streams and chair workshops/meetings according to the different stages of the project/s
  • Manage requests originating from the organisation, whilst ensuring that these are aligned with the organisation’s strategy and priorities
  • Prioritisation of activities requested by the business stakeholders to maximise the use of available resources


Personal Expertise:

  • A proven track record in the successful delivery of Programmes and/or Projects
  • Knowledge of project definition, project initiation, change management, commercial management, risk management, and the principles and practicalities of running projects
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders and develop/maintain relationships
  • Talent to motivate team members towards a common goal especially during challenging times  
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and setbacks throughout the project lifecycle
  • A track record of planning and management of progress, resources and cost for projects
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders and team members
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Certification in Project Management (such as Prince2 Practitioner, ISEB, APM qualified, Prince2Agile or Scrum) is a plus but NOT a must
  • Industry experience in the Telecoms industry and/or IT Enterprise programmes will be considered an asset
