Managing Director

A local provider of financial services, part of a reputed Group of companies, listed on the SEM, is recruiting a Managing Director who will develop and implement the strategy as approved by the board. He/She will also provide direction and leadership towards achievement of the Company’s mission, strategy, annual goals and objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop a strategic plan to advance the Company’s mission and objectives to promote revenue, profitability and sustained growth
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of excellent client relationships
  • Maintain a good working relationship with regulatory bodies as may be required
  • Oversee the Company's operations to ensure optimised efficiency, sustained service quality and cost-effective management of all resources
  • Approve operational procedures, policies and standards including designing and implementing internal controls to ensure proper risk management
  • Prepare and recommend yearly budget for Board approval, prudently manage the Company resources within budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations
  • Prepare and submit to the Board - exhaustive, accurate, punctual and reliable activity reports and financial statements, in accordance with applicable laws
  • Review reports regularly to determine progress and status in attaining objectives with current conditions
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of direct reports for compliance with established policies and objectives
  • Evaluate performance of direct reports under responsibility and ensure compliance with established policies and objectives
  • Effectively manage the human resources of the Company according to HR policies and procedures in conformity with current laws and regulations
  • Establish a positive working environment and build a strong corporate culture
  • Prepare and provide for a succession plan and a continuity action plans
  • Spearhead the marketing of services/products, develop client networks, establish and maintain pipelines and support efforts in developing and executing sales and marketing strategies
  • Promote the Company through written articles and personal appearances at conferences and on audio visual media
  • Ensure that the Company and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented strongly and positively to relevant stakeholders
  • Represent the Company in various offices in relevant seminars, associations at national and international levels and at formal functions
  • Present company report at Annual Shareholders and Board of Director meetings
  • Live and display the Company’s DNA in all daily activities, whilst also ensuring direct reports do same, in order to uphold and further strengthen the Company’s brand internally and externally

Qualifications & Experience

  • Possess a first degree in Finance, Law or in Business Management (MBA desirable)
  • Be a holder of a professional qualification: ACIS or STEPS or ICSA
  • Have a sound knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
  • Possess practical exposure to the Trusts, GBC1, Authorised Companies, Foundations, Funds etc..
  • Be a Team player with critical, analytical and problem solving aptitudes
  • Can managing pressure and have creating and innovating skills
  • Decide and Initiate actions regularly
  • Have at least 10 years experience at Senior Management level in the financial sector (preferably within the global Business sector)
