A Maltese Bank specialising in Corporate Financing Solutions, Foreign Exchange Services and Corporate and Personal Deposits have recently opened up the position of Head of Operations and are seeking a talented individual with a demonstrable record of accomplishment to join their dynamic team of professionals.

The Head of Operations assumes overall responsibility for the operations of the bank whilst forming part of the core management team.

Main duties of the Head of Operations:

  • Takes ownership and responsibility for the bank’s operations department
  • Works closely with the business functions to maintain and enhance operational processes
  • Manages the rollout of operational matters for internally generated systems
  • Ownership of the bank’s operational processes with regard to retail depositors, corporate clients and FX business
  • Identifies areas for automation of existing processes
  • Setting up of new operational procedures with regard to new business lines
  • Acts as point of reference to staff members in relation to operational tasks
  • Review/maintain/update operational manuals and policies
  • Pro-actively seeks to improve operational processes whist identifying areas of operational risk
  • Responsibility for the management and development of the operations team
  • Takes part in senior management meetings
  • Develops and presents monthly operational KPIs
  • Develops benchmarks from analysis of statistics

Job Requirements

  • Degree in banking or in other related area
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a relevant role
  • Knowledge of banking procedures and policies
  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational plans and actions
  • Ability to think on their feet and provide solutions to challenging tasks
  • Proactive person that understands the dynamics of working in a growing team
  • Positive attitude with the ability to motivate themselves and their team to achieve results
