One of our clients who services the Finance and Gaming industries, is looking for a Head of Development to lead the development teams who are responsible for delivering world class technology platforms pushing this company to the top amongst its competitors worldwide.

 

Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and strategic direction, organisation structure, communication and performance of the development teams
  • Implement mechanisms to monitor, manage and provide progress on all software development activities
  • Set short- and long-term strategy for the department and identify requirements for growth
  • Lead a set of development teams across different products, verticals and business areas
  • Directly lead a team of product owners and a team of support function managers including lead architects and software development managers
  • Ensure on time and on quality delivery of software development projects and drive the products’ vision following the company goals and KPIs
  • Recruit, lead and mentor first class technical talent as well as identify and provide ongoing training to maximise growth of individual and team capabilities
  • Be an active part of the middle managers forum and drive cross departmental initiatives
  • Support an agile organisational structure which reacts quickly to internal and external changes
  • Manage the departmental budget and license management for anything related to development including third party tools and services

 

Skills and Experience

  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience in leading high performing tech teams
  • Experience in selecting and implementing various development methodologies (agile/scrum/kanban)
  • Strong technical background, experience in a similar role preferred
  • Bachelor and/or Masters degree in a technology field
  • Excellent communicator and ability to present to executive level
  • Ability to balance technical knowledge with business opportunity
  • Ability to present technical solutions to non technical audiences in a simple cohesive way
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills in technical and non technical environment
