Group Financial Reporting Officer

A leader in the building materials market, listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius, is recruiting a Group Financial Reporting Officer who will ensure effective financial reporting and compliance with all financial regulations and procedures for the Group.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly Group consolidation reports with respective notes and explanations
  • Prepare financial statements for the group with respective disclosures as per IFRS in agreed deadlines.
  • Prepare quarterly reporting pack with notes as per deadlines set
  • Prepare presentations for the Audit committees and board meetings and respective board papers
  • Collaborate with the various Accountants within the group for complex financial analysis impacting the group
  • Prepare and interpret operating results, annual budgets and administer for the regular reporting
  • Monitor the monthly inter-company transactions and balance reconciliation
  • Provide guidance to Management team and Accountants based on the analysis
  • Provide guidance and review workings for complex Accounting standards applicable within the group
  • Perform impairment testing on investments help by the group and advise on financial impact and disclosures
  • Assess and review adoption of new IFRS on the group and propose guidelines to Accountants within the group
  • Liaise with the respective stakeholders to obtain the financial information for proper reporting and analysis
  • Coordinate with the holding company for quarterly reporting and information required
  • Prepare forecast models for income statement, balance sheet and cash flow of the various companies
  • Provide guidance to the Accounting department on reviewed processes ensuring proper end results
  • Collaborate with tax advisors for calculation of tax and deferred tax for group purposes
  • Manage communication with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues
  • Train and educate Management with respect to financial laws and regulation

Qualifications and Experience

  • Be a qualified accountant with ACCA/ACA/ICAEW certification
  • Possess at least 7 years in a similar position
  • Have hands-on experience in a large business in terms of turnover (preferably Top 100 Co’s)
  • Be knowledgeable of good and proper accounting principles (IFRS...)
  • Be well versed with ICT skills and relevant softwares
  • Have ability to produce high-level and in-depth analytical reports
  • Have a good management of tight deadlines and quality of deliverables
  • Be knowledgeable of group consolidation techniques and preparation of Group Financial Statements
  • Possess strong leadership and communication skills
  • Be a problem solver with analytical skills
  • Have organisation skills and be able to meet deadlines
  • Be good at Report writing and pay attention to details
  • Be focused and have a good mastery of English and French (written and spoken)
