A well-established wholesaler of IT products in Mauritius, is recruiting a dynamic and passionate General Manager (Designate) to lead and manage the company.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the company to achieve its short-term and long-term business objectives
  • Prepare strategic and operational plans as approved by the board of directors and ensure their timely and efficient execution and report to the board on the monitoring of these plans
  • Review financial statements and revenue reports and other performance data to continuously measure productivity and goal achievement
  • Responsible for the financial performance of the company and sustainable year-on-year growth
  • Debtors management - Ensure effective management of the company's recovery & clearance scheme and commercial policies to avoid bad debts
  • Understand the market and its evolution and be aware of major global emerging trends, innovative technologies, products and promising companies (vendors)
  • Measure & understand the customer experience in its journey and adjust operations accordingly
  • Together with the sales team, develop and implement high-impact marketing and commercial plans, attractive channel partner programs and activities to boost and grow sales revenue and profit
  • Foster good commercial relationship with suppliers/vendors to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed products and services
  • Foster and sustain a working environment that stimulates employee engagement and supports the company’s culture of Connect, Commit and Innovate
  • Lead and coordinate activities of the company's departments and team members for organisational performance and effectiveness
  • Implement a regular monitoring system through clear operation KPIs and targets
  • Manage continuous improvement and lean programs to increase quality and efficiency and reducing no value-added activities to ensure sustainability of operations

Qualifications & Experience

  • Masters degree in Business Administration, marketing or related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar job or in business development with a proven successful track record with a performing company
  • Prior experience in selling technology products to large accounts and managing sales teams
  • Good understanding of commercial opportunities and challenges with dealers, corporate resellers, software integrators, local distributors and resellers involved in IT products and services
  • Sound analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills to inform and direct operational and strategic business decisions for the Company
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English and French (written and oral)
  • Good negotiating skills with ability to build rapport and sustainable relationships with all stakeholders
  • Effective leadership skills and enthusiastic team player
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct and business integrity in line with the company’s code of ethics.
