A well-established hospitality company is currently seeking to recruit a financial controller who will be reporting directly to the director of finance.

Job Description 

  • Establishing courses of action for self and others to ensure work is completed efficiently  
  • Ensure month end reports are prepared on time  
  • Provide senior management with accurate and timely accounting records and reports, general supervision and guidance of the finance team in their day-to-day tasks 
  • Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities, using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing solutions 
  • Allocate tasks to be completed on a time schedule basis to collate and compile reports for management 
  • Participate in managing budget not only in the finance department but throughout the various hotel departments
  • Oversees the internal training plan for finance colleagues to ensure everyone is updated with the latest accounting principles
  • Prepare variance analysis on company department’s financial performance to ensure budget adherence 
  • Ensuring that internal procedures are constantly being followed within the company 

Job Requirements 

  • Ideally 5 years of hospitality finance experience, advantageous to have hospitality operation’s knowledge 
  • Experience with Hotel PMS preferably Oracle Opera, Materials Control, MICROS Pos and SUN Accounting will be considered an asset 
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the accounting, finance and hospitality profession 
  • Professional qualification (e.g.ACCA, CIMA) or the equivalent level of experience or part qualified (final stage)
