A gaming company, forming part of a property and fund management group is currently looking for a Financial Controller to join its finance team, reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing of monthly interim results.

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts.

  • Preparation of yearly budgets.

  • Reviewing Accounts payables’ and accounts receivables’ functions.

  • Cash flow preparation including reconciliations.

  • Preparation of reports for government authorities such as VAT returns, MGA taxation.

  • Preparation of payroll calculation, reviewing and validating all payroll related transactions.

  • Review and update salary scales.

  • Review and approve Purchase orders and capex forms, Supplier invoices, VAT returns, MGA taxation and Payroll calculations and authorization of their payments.

  • Ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting of business transactions within the agreed timelines and in line with accounting standards.

  • Preparation of financial policies and procedures, ensure that they are being followed and updated accordingly were necessary.

  • Preparation of weekly estimates of the business performance and monthly forecasts prior to the preparation of management accounts.

  • Preparation of reporting requests that may be required by group such as board meeting presentations, internal audits, etc.

  • Preparation and submission of other required reporting requests that may be required lawfully by external bodies, such as MGA, Banks, CfR, Jobsplus, etc.

  • Organize and attend ongoing meetings with management to review and discuss business performance.

  • Liaise with COO on any business decisions required

  • Liaise with other management to obtain information required or discuss issues encountered arising from operations.

  • Liaise with auditors to perform statutory audit and maintain an effective working relationship with them

  • Liaise with group on company restructuring, opening of new banking facilities, MBR submissions, income tax payments, insurance renewal policies and insurance claims.

  • Liaise with lawyers on any legal matter or agreements entered into.

  • Endeavour to keep subordinates always motivated and conduct job development interviews as required.

  • Provide for the training of subordinates to ensure that they have the necessary knowledge and skill to carry out their duties with sustained maximum efficiency.

  • Provide support to certain projects and initiatives as required by the business operations.

Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate must be a fully qualified accountant.

  • Must possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a managerial role.

  • Must be proficient in accounting software.
