Compliance Specialist (Banking)

An established Banking institution is looking for a diligent individual for the role of Compliance Specialist reporting directly to the MLRO. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the development, implementation, and maintenance of an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) program within the Bank. 

  • Aid in the design, development, and implementation of a risk assessment framework. 

  • Setting up written guidelines for the AML/CTF program that are based on Bank's actual method of doing business that is easily understood and is based on company's vulnerabilities to money laundering and terrorist financing. 

  • Assisting in the development of compliance initiatives and programs to comply with the respective legal, licensing, and regulatory obligations. 

  • Identifying and informing of any changes to legislation and other regulatory requirements relating to AML/CTF 

  • Overseeing and monitoring an ongoing AML/KYC review process 

  • Performing an ongoing transaction monitoring process 

  • Handle file reviews of suspicious activity to ensure compliance with the policies and procedures put in place 

  • Training and guiding front office staff on AML/CTF and KYC related subjects 

  • Ensuring that the bank maintained the highest compliance standards and arrangements by following appropriate regulatory requirements, FIAU implementing procedures and the Bank’s AML/CTF Policy Manual. 

  • Raising any concerns regarding existing relationships to ensure AML/ CTF compliance is carried out promptly in line with Regulatory Compliance, Financial Crime Compliance guidelines and Novum Bank standards with MLRO 

  • Effectively utilize systems, both internal and external, to perform job function and maintain accurate records. 

  • Perform other tasks that may be requested 

Requirements:

  • Experience in analysing new legislation and regulation and assessing potential impacts on AML/ CTF compliance programs, as well as incorporating new regulatory requirements into existing processes 

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in AML/ CTF 

  • Experience in Retail and Corporate Banking 

  • Good command of verbal and written communication skills in English 

  • Willing to learn, CAN DO attitude and Good in interpersonal and analytical skills.
