A FinTech award winner, present in 4 African Countries, developing a highly innovative platform enabling banks to easily offer their customers an online application or functionality, is recruiting a Business Development Manager. The platform assists banks in their digital transformation challenges and manages three main applications namely, Payment, Micro-Finance and Remittance. The incumbent will be assigned to expand the Operations across Africa, whilst reporting to the CEO directly.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the company's Business Development expansion in Mauritius and drive sales across Africa
  • Participate in strategy formulation and execution of tactical plans
  • Ensure that business activities produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission
  • Work with relevant senior team members and leverage company resources to identify and drive new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients
  • Address issues & concerns regarding solution offerings and assist in fee negotiations to successfully bring deals to closure
  • Build long term partnership with various stakeholders involved
  • Validate the long-term business goals and strategies
  • Review business strategies and plans together with the Board of Directors, ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives, company’s vision and roadmap
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry
  • Carefully monitor competition in the market with constant evaluation of financial structure, capital strategy & strategic priorities
  • Expand the business model and identify alternative opportunities to monetize the company’s products

Qualifications & Experience

  • Be a degree holder in any business related field
  • Possess at least 10+ years of business development and management experience within the financial services sector
  • Have a proven record for selling complex services and solutions at the "C" level of T2 & T3 banks & insurance companies
  • Have proven ability to effectively manage a number of accounts and a business development pipeline
  • Possess team selling experience and customer excellence principles
  • Have a proven track record of success in a solution-oriented, professional services environment
  • Possess English and French writing and speaking capabilities
  • Be ready and available to travel frequently into Africa at short call
