Assistant Financial Controller (Temp- 1 year)

A well-established insurance company is currently seeking to recruit an assistant financial controller who shall be reporting directly to the financial controller of the company.  

Job Description

• Prepare monthly workings papers with respect to reinsurance elements for the European entities 
• Support the other assistant financial controller where applicable in ensuring accuracy of the monthly management account and reconciliation of these to the working papers 
• On a monthly basis track and reconcile the debtor/ creditor balance on the reinsurance broker account for the European entities 
• Support the other assistant financial controller in preparing financial and claims data for internal and external actuaries to support the reserving process 
• On a yearly basis to calculate the profit commission income calculation 
• Assist in the preparation of the forecasts and budgets 
• Perform other duties as may be reasonably required by Senior Management locally or by Group. 

Job Requirements 

• Previous experience within audit background 
• Partly qualitied Accountant (Bachelor of Commerce, ACCA or similar qualification) 
• Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Excel to advanced level 
• In depth knowledge of the insurance market would be considered an asset 
• Fluent in English and able to communicate both in writing and orally 
• Fluent on IT systems 
• Well organised and quick to adopt as per company exigencies
