Employee learning and development happens continuously in organisations whether this function is structured or not. Structure and goals link the learning to organisational goals and the results are then more effective. By the end of this session, you will learn how you can better structure the learning and development function within your entity whether it is a small or medium sized entity.

The participant will:

  • understand how learning is part of the wider organisation’s talent management process

  • learn how to set out a strategy to build a new learning organisation

  • learn to assess the competencies needed by the organisation

  • learn to address these gaps through recruitment, reskilling and upskilling

  • learn to evaluate and monitor learning and development

About the trainer - Christine Copperstone

The trainer is an experienced HR practitioner with 25 years’ experience spanning various industries including pharmaceutical, hospitality, manufacturing and retail. She holds an MSc in Occupational Psychology, a teacher’s warrant and is a certified trainer. Christine has worked with organisations both as a freelancer and also as part of senior management teams. She has extensive experience in developing and leading the HR function in large corporate international companies as Head HR.
