Adrian Theuma, B/Com (Economics & Management), is an intern with the National Statistics Office (Statistician).
1. How are you finding your internship?
The internship is going great! I am meeting other economists and lecturers that used to teach me at University. It feels great to finally practice and apply what I learned at University at my current internship.
2. What do you most enjoy about the internship?
I love working within a team and treated as a normal employee. It gives me a lot of satisfaction knowing that my work is making a difference at NSO, even though I am still an Intern. I have a specific job description and knowing that I am the only person working on this project makes me feel important. Working with NSO is giving me the opportunity to see exactly how things are done at the place of work and I am working very hard to give my best and meet deadlines.
3. How will your internship help you in your future studies/career?
My internship has already started helping me a lot. I never thought that I could get an internship as a statistician and hopefully, this experience will give me an added value for my future career.
4. What's one piece of advice you would give other students who are thinking of applying for an Internship with Castille?
Although working while studying can be very intensive, it is worthwhile. Students will definitely benefit from the extra time spent at the place of work. Always give your utmost during the internship because this might lead to full-time employment after graduation. It’s a great opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in class and it will definitely give you an advantage for future employment.
