Castille hosted the GDG Malta Summer Networking event on July 30th, 2019, which saw an enthusiastic group of Malta-based developers meet up at Castille’s rooftop terrace for a relaxed evening to discuss what’s trending in the sphere of tech.
The venue provided great networking opportunities for an interesting range of professionals in tech from different backgrounds and areas of expertise, which encouraged diverse conversations to take place and new connections to be made. With some delightful bites and refreshments offered throughout the event, complemented by the stunning 360 views around Castille’s premises, the tone was set for an easy-going evening between members of the GDG community and other professionals with a deep interest in the activities of GDG Malta.
During the event, Dylan Seychell, Founder of GDG Malta, took the opportunity to announce the upcoming activities of the Google Developers Group DevFest 2019, inviting all attendees to participate in their events and offering the opportunity for anyone to deliver a talk or workshop during winter.
GDG also brought up plans for a number of interesting upcoming initiatives such as coding courses for beginners to encourage and foster the growth of tech education to form a more proactive approach towards the tech skills gap being seen across many sectors both locally and worldwide. Such strategies are highly likely to generate more opportunities for individuals seeking jobs in Malta in the fields of tech, with IT jobs in Malta expected to increase in the coming future.
Castille is set to organise more events alongside GDG Malta in the near future, as this first event proved successful to motivate further collaboration down the line.
