Castille sponsors the FinanceMalta 2018 Annual Conference & Networking Drinks
Castille were proud sponsors of Finance Malta’s 11th Annual Conference, sponsoring the event’s pre-conference networking event for the second consecutive year. This event is a prestigious one for Finance Malta, offering excellent networking opportunities and allowing discussions between peers to keep up-to-date with current and ongoing affairs within the Financial Services both locally and internationally.
This conference is the national event where lawyers, accountants, compliance officers, risk managers and senior finance executives meet to discuss with other professionals involved in the Financial Services Industry in Malta.
This year’s business and finance conference was entitled ‘Finance Without Frontiers’, and featured local and international experts who addressed delegates on current topics within the Finance industry as well as the trending topics of business start-ups, GDPR, cyber security, MiFiD II & MiFiR, Bitcoin, Blockchain and Initial Coin Offering (ICO), amongst some others. During the conference, Kenneth Farrugia, Chairman of Finance Malta, went on to address the need of offering tailored educational programmes and introducing efficient and practical procedures when recruiting foreign nationals to the workforce. Additionally, Mr Farrugia explained the importance of the industry collaborating with the Banking sector and the MFSA to make certain that the Financial industry maintains a steady growth and offers consistent high-end services.
On the eve of the Annual Conference at the Hilton Malta, Castille organised the networking event which welcomed all event-goers with complementary drinks. Upon arrival, attendees were assisted in collecting their name and company tags sponsored by Castille, and with the tuneful background sound of the live band, a pleasant ambience was created to commence the networking event.
Attendees were served free-flowing drinks and exquisite food throughout the evening, which saw all persons sharing value and exchanging insight and opinion with one another. Discussions relevant to career and company growth and the development and recruitment of talent were brought up. Castille’s Brand Manager, Christian Xuereb, also met a few attendees who had the opportunity to give their opinions on the strengths and potential challenges of the Maltese Financial Jurisdiction.
Such a professional networking event however did not restrict event-goers to talk about other personal interests and concerns, and therefore provided a focused yet relaxed aura. Attendees took the opportunity to not only strengthen the bonds of current relationships, however also initiate new ones and thus take the chance to lay the foundations for potential collaborations. The shaking of hands and taking of photographs enhanced the experience of the evening, as individuals steadily gained networking confidence and enjoyed the enthusiastic feeling of the event.
All in all the networking event proved to be highly beneficial to all attendees, allowing them to engage in conversation and exchange views - creating an atmosphere which was both productive and stress-free in nature, an ideal start to an excellent annual conference.
